Meet Brooke - Piano, Voice, Guitar, & Trumpet Teacher

Brooke (she/her) has been an active musician for 20 years, exercising her musicianship through performance, composition, recording and teaching. She is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in trumpet, voice, guitar and piano, actively performing and recording in these disciplines in the Greater Seattle area.

Brooke holds a Master of Music in Film Composition from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. She has worked in genres of comedy, documentaries, mockumentaries, inspirational, drama, action and adventure. Most recently Brooke has worked on films "Eye of The Lamb", a 48 hour film project submission; "Please Hang Up" a Turn Film Co. production; and "Trust Tomorrow" a Right Now Today production.

Prior to receiving her degree from Seattle Film Institute, Brooke studied with Sarah Ioannides, of Tacoma Symphony Orchestra, through the Cascade Conducting Masterclass intensive. During the intensive, participants rotate through and practice conducting a symphony orchestra in preparation for a culminating concert at the end of the week. Brooke also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from Seattle Pacific University. Brooke was first inspired to identify as a composer and conductor in her undergraduate studies, thanks to two professors who both thought she was crazy for buying a cello despite having never studied in her life...Words from each of them which have stuck with her throughout her career thus far have been: "You are very musical when you conduct" (coming from a Mahler-fanatic, hard-to-impress professor); And, "Never stop being curious", coming from her professor who knew how to meet students on their level of understanding.

When Brooke isn't composing or teaching, she can be found in the recording studio or on stage performing. After releasing her debut indie-rock album, False Identities, The Rookery (2021), Brooke has recorded and performed with other notable artists and performance groups in the area: The Jaws of Brooklyn (official vocalist), Fast Nasties (trumpet), Seattle Sounders Soundwave (trumpet/conducting/arranging), Glass Beaches (trumpet/vocals), and Ballard Civic Orchestra (cello).

Brooke has found that the best compositions and recording sessions arise when we are fully present and communicative with ourselves and those we work with. She hopes that the educational experience with every student of hers is a source of color, joy and love in their lives.
