Meet Anand - Guitar and Bass Teacher

Anand Landon is a professional performing guitarist, bassist, composer, arranger, producer, and sideman for various bands and projects. Born in Southern, California, At the age of 14, Landon picked up the guitar and instantly fell in love with it. Practicing for 4-6 hours a day to hone his craft and become proficient at the instrument. He then took lessons under the tutelage of Los Angeles based guitarist Shawn Flemming for five years studying music theory, jazz, rock, songwriting, and music production. After graduating high School, Landon moved to Tacoma, WA and attended the University of Puget Sound for his Bachelor's in Music. There he beatboxed in an a cappella group, sang in two different choirs, played guitar and bass in the jazz orchestra, and even formed a band with his college friends which he is still in today, 48 Degrees North. The jazz orchestra even got guest artists to play with the college band including musical legends like Victor Wooten, Howard Levy, and Joshua Redman. Since graduating in 2019, Landon has performed with numerous groups including cover bands, original Seattle projects, and is very active on the musical scene. His current projects include the band JAMN, a collective of very skilled musicians who all met at jam sessions and have already made a name for themselves in the Seattle area with a successful debut EP. Most recently he toured internationally with the Earth, Wind, and Fire, Tribute band, Kalimba. They have taken him all over the United States and even as far as the Middle East. Most notably to Oman and Egypt. In terms of teaching, Landon has been a private teacher for 5 years at Allstar Guitar in Gig Harbor. He became very proficient at teaching guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, music theory, composition, and basic music production. Anand prides himself in being able to teach students how to really learn the music they want to play through ear training and a little bit of music theory knowledge for those who wish to learn that skillset. He has taught students of all ages and hopes to have his students achieve their musical goals.
