Meet Joon - Piano, Violin, Viola, & Voice Teacher

Joon Kim is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in Piano, Violin, Viola, and Vocals. He also works professionally as an audio engineer, composer, and producer.

He started playing music at age five with piano before starting violin and viola at eight, dabbling in guitar at ten, and starting to learn vocals at eighteen.

At age sixteen, he got into music theory and composition, and studied it in school and out until he received a scholarship to go to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts as a Film Scoring major with a focus on Piano as his main instrument. At Berklee, he joined several student bands, as well as the Berklee Contemporary Symphonic Orchestra as first Viola. During this time, he also started teaching private lessons on piano online throughout covid, then started giving lessons in person after quarantine restrictions were lifted.

After graduating in 2023, he moved to Seattle where he continued to teach music and now works as a multimedia composer and audio engineer.

With almost a decade of experience teaching music and music performance, he has developed a teaching style based around working with the musical interests of students, including arranging their favorite songs to match their instrument and difficulty. Joon currently welcomes students of all ages and abilities.
