Meet Anna - Violin Teacher

Anna has been living and breathing music throughout her life and has a dynamic background of experience to offer her students. She was only three years old when she started taking private violin lessons and her love and talent for the instrument was evident immediately as she began her training in the Suzuki method. It wasn’t long before she had developed a mastery of the instrument that was well beyond her years due to extensive study and dedicated daily practice.

Anna participated in many youth orchestras and was appointed first chair violinist in all of them. She became the youngest member of the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra at 13 years old and continued to play with the organization throughout high school. Anna was also invited to join the Bach Fest Orchestra and performed annually in Lake Chelan, WA with highly esteemed musicians from all over the country. She began coaching a few younger players and soon found she had a passion for teaching as deep as her love for playing.

As she grew older, Anna’s musical journey expanded into other areas such as vocal jazz and songwriting/recording. She was accepted on an impressive scholarship to Cornish College of the Arts where she studied vocal jazz performance until the Covid-19 pandemic interrupted her education. It was around this time that she dedicated herself to the violin again and began to combine her classical training with her love for jazz and pop music, creating her own unique and authentic sound.

As of today, Anna has recorded and produced tons of original music and performed all over the city of Seattle with her own band as well as other well-known local artists. However, she recognizes that her musical prowess would not be possible without the rigorous classical training of her early years and is devoted to helping students develop their own foundational skills. Anna believes music can be learned by anyone and is able to work skillfully with different learning styles and personality types. She has a balanced approach to teaching that combines the discipline needed to progress as well as the mentality that learning music should be fun, rewarding and tailor-fitted to each student’s goals and aspirations.
